Hydro Carbons patented Rotary Vacuum
Dryer (RVD) cuttings drying system was designed to meet
the needs of offshore drilling. The result: lower
cost, increased efficiency and easier setup than competing Hi-G centrifuge systems originally designed
for the mining industry.
Our versatile system not only meets
or exceeds all EPA guidelines for offshore discharge of
synthetic-based solids, it excels
in recovering and recycling expensive synthetic-based drilling fluids.
Our RVDs fit into the normal flow of your cuttings disposal system.
Drying takes place at the shakers
for maximum efficiency, eliminating
the need
to convey cuttings elsewhere for processing. Eliminating augers offers
safety benefits and avoids the further breakdown of cuttings particles,
which would make recovery more difficult.
Wet cuttings drop onto the RVD screens, dry cuttings come out. Drilling
fluid is stripped from cuttings by high speed air and these
vacuum-dried cuttings drop into the existing cuttings ditch for overboard
disposal
or collection for removal. Only
recovered mud is removed from the shaker area. Recovered
mud is moved by vacuum air to nearby separators and pumped to a decanting
centrifuge feed tank
to remove solids,
then to the active mud system.
Our RVD cuttings dryer systems come
complete with vacuum/separator units. These
prepackaged modules can also be installed as separate components.
Connecting components with lightweight clamp-together pipes and hoses
easily accommodates
the layout of your rig.
Our innovative RVD cuttings dryer system has been utilized
by major oil industry operators from the Gulf of Mexico to Africa
and Southeast Asia.
